what about drug use?......?

what kind of drug use does everyone think is normal now adays? Im not looking for some idealistic crap. i want some realistic thoughts on this issue. I am from BC Canada where almost everyone under 30 smokes weed. I dont but i have experimented with other drugs so what do you think is normal? not necessarily right or wrong.

no usage of drugs is "normal". You may be confusing the terms normal & accepted or popular. Some people have accepted that drugs or certain drugs are ok to use. Or if enough people use it, its fine.

I am from Santa Cruz, CA where almost everyone smokes weed. Psilocybin mushroom use is popular with the younger, college crowd.

Drinking is still the drug of choice for most people however, as it is legal.

My city (Santa Cruz) recently passed a measure decriminalizing marijuana in the city, but the Feds can still bust you if they catch you.

Speaking of the effects of the drugs on the person and on the people surrounding that person, marijuana is a much safer and more positive drug than any of the others, including alcohol. No one ever smoked a joint and then got into a fight, or a riot, or a drunk driving accident.

The poster below me states that no drug use is normal. I wonder how he defines his basis of normal. Did you know that drug use is prevalent in the animal kingdom? Test this yourself - buy your cat some catnip and see what she does. Did you know Rhesus monkeys will continue to do cocaine nonstop until they die?

Most popular drugs taken by people who have 9 to 5's, and are pretty much normal are:

Marijuana
Cocaine
Exstacy

I know this because i've know people who have used these drugs and were outwardly normal as far as jobs, hygeine and mentality were concerned. Of course, marijuana was used way more frequently.
