First of all, I would like to congratulate you for her being honest with you. Many times couples don't tell about their dreams especially cheating from her end!

Having cheated in the dream could mean a couple things.

1. Not satisfied in sexual life or communication or daily regular life. Projecting cheating could be a release of that helpless conscience.

2. Proud ego - she could have a proud ego. Being content with you in reality may not be enough subconsciously, that is why she had that dream vent out. In other words, there is no way for her to tell people how lucky she is, so cheating in dream may be one of the ways.

My working hypothesis is that dreams are just random memory and visual cells firing. You know how scattered and fragmented they can be; other parts of our brain specialise in making a coherent whole out of these pieces. It happens in daily life, but there the stimuli do tend to occur in the same proximate time and space.

Why would these neurons be firing? She saw a movie or TV program with that sort of situation. She overheard something about someone else. She saw someone that attracted her physically but immediately and unconsciously repressed that desire because she's happy with you.

Don't worry about it. If the rest is good, just let it be a dream.

And don't tell me you've NEVER dreamed about another woman. :-)

Be careful here, friend--her dreaming that she cheated on you means one of three things: That she's thinking about doing it, that she's already made plans to do it & has someone in mind for the "task"...or that she's already done it and her subconscious mind is reminding her of the guilt. If the first two apply, then you have a chance to rectify the situation by talking to her and--perhaps--going to counseling. If the third...then you have a LOT of work ahead of you. I wish you well, friend...

I feel that by the very fact that she actually told you about her dream should be very reassuring. Did she realize in the dream that she was cheating on you? Did this upset her? These are the important questions only she can answer.

Dreams are our playground where anything can fly. I imagine the psyche is always conducting little 'experiments' on itself.

No reason. It's normal -- and in fact GOOD -- that she's dreaming about other people. It means she has a healthy and active imagination. I have naughty dreams about other people all the time and so does my husband. No one can control what they dream, you know! Well...Unless they're skilled at lucid dreaming, and that's a different thing altogether.

who knows, it was only a dream, and trust me I have had lots of dreams like that, and I have never cheated because of it. Her mind just wanted her to have a little excitement while she slept. that's all. Remember it was just a dream, do all your dreams mean something.

no reason at all. Like dreaming that you are a child in your dream or dreaming about the past. Don't worry.
