How do Iknow if my car has the car chip?

I have a 1997 mecury sable

If you mean the performance chip? If thats the case, pull the ECM and check to see if there is an aftermarket chip installed.

If your car didn't have a chip in it, it would not start. If you are talking about a performance chip, you would have to open the computer and compare the number on the chip to OEM.

i own a shop,and if it has a computer it has a chip in it all cars from 1983 have some sort of computer and chip in them,,good luck,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
