Symonds is a brilliant player. He is good both in defence and attack and above all a good cricketer and team man. He is excellent fielder and bowls both off spin and medium reasonably.
He has proved his worth in ODI team of Australia.
For some odd reasons, till now, he consistently failed in test matches, though has all ingredients to be a good test player.
Even, Viv Richards failed in initial stage of his career and found himself going after hitting a brilliant 192 runs. Hopefully, such innings will come for symonds also, perhaps next test match, and he will respectfully command his place in the test matches also. Wish him all luck and best wishes.

No he will not get a regualr place in the Australian test side. He has regularly failed with the bat and is not much better with the ball when it comes to test cricket. Shane Watson is a much better prospect as an all-rounder for Australia
