You can wrap presents in aluminum foil, the comics from the Sunday papers, pictures from an old calendar, an old map that you're not going to use. Fabric makes an excellent wrap - either buy some very cheaply at a fabric store (tulle is great - just gather it at the top of the package and tie with ribbon, twine or one of those things you get in the market that keeps the plastic fruit bag closed) or take a clean article of clothing that you're not going to wear again, cut into sized pieces and wrap. Take two sheets of wax paper and iron some dried flowers or leaves between them. Wrap with brown paper from a grocery bag and cover with play money. Wrap a gift in plain paper (grocery bag is fine), (different colors magic marker - dark pen - sharp crayons) and write things like "open me first", "hey, I'm over here" or "pick me, pick me". You can "wrap" a book in an empty cereal box. Go for a walk and see if you can find dried leaves, pine cones, acorns and glue them to the outside of the box.

So, what'd ya get me?

Brown papper grocery sacks. You can stensil them, add handles made of ribbon or string and you have gift bags. Or you can again stensil or decoracte the sacks then use it like you would regular gift wrap. If you want your gifts to have a country feel, leave the sacks plain, use twine in place of ribbon and use sprigs of pine or rosemary in place of bows.
