Hello,

How much should I tip on Christmas day for the house cleaner? I am moving in on Christmas day and thought I should since they are coming in on that day. I didn't even realize when I scheduled that they work on that day, I just said next monday and it happened to be on the 25th. Only a little later did I realize that it was on Christmas.

How much do you think is good? Thanks.

You are not obligated to tip anything, but if you are so inclined(and it's a nice thought for which I am glad to see soemone with.) it depends on how well of fyou ar efinancially. 50 bucks isn't bad. I don't think they would expect over 10.

You can tip anyone that is in the service industry....as long as they do a good job. If you are home when they do the work...you can tip them at that time. If you are gone and they come in and clean...then put a tip in their next payment envelope. Some may not know why that extra money is there, so tell them it was for doing a great job. Small bonus payments go a long way...keeps your workers happy and willing to go that extra step in cleaning your house.

My dear Looozaur, there is no set rule for tipping individuals who work for you, it all depends whether your generosity is flimsy or large, and I want to believe that you are a person with a large generosity.

I say whatever your hearts desire.. They wont be expecting it and it will be a blessing to them. So whatever it is put on your mind and heart to give its a nice idea.... at least 40 bucks

If one person, $100.00. If a team 2 people: $50.00 each; no more than 3: $40.00 each.

I think $50 is nice - particularly if they do a really good job.

Give them the best tip of all. Tell them to get out of the house cleaning business.
