Brett Lee used to be all about pace but recently his accuracy has improved a great deal. He has become a much better bowl over the past 18 months. He takes the wickets of both top order batsmen and the tail-enders. He'll have to now as Warne is retiring and McGrath will follow suit very shortly.

Bowling averages
class mat balls runs wkts bbi bbm ave econ sr
Tests 57 11872 7103 219 5/30 8/123 32.43 3.58 54.21
ODIs 143 7321 5726 255 5/22 5/22 22.45 4.69 28.70
Test matches: He averages 3.84 wickets per test match and takes a wicket for every 9 overs bowled.
ODI: He averages 1.78 wickets per ODI and takes a wicket for every 4.8 overs bowled. Thus 2 wickets per match, if he bowls full 10 overs in ODI.
He is overhyped and an ordinary bowler who bowls very fast and gives a lot of runs. He has been shielded as Australian have good bowlers like Mcgrath and Warne i their team. If he had been in any other team, he would have not been a permanent fixture. I do not remember a single test match that Australia won because of his bowling efforts.

a fast bowler better than any other fast bowler and is a bit expensive but doesnt really have the chance to save Australia when Mcgrath and Warne are in the team
maybe after they retire he will be Australias hero

4.69 in ODIs
3.5 in tests...hmmm bad economy rate
but just look at the avg. in both forms of cricket its awesome...
very quick.yup...but not as fast as shoaib...
yet he is not prone to injuries like any other fast bowler..shane bond..shoaib..etc...
i dont know how aussie's gonna find a replacmnt after his retiremnt..after mcgrath and bret lee...i dont think bowlers like bracken would b able to handle the pressure..

He is a very good fast bowler. Just because G.D. Mc Grath is there in the Australian Team, he is not getting much prominance.
