we r dealing with a bogus window company or so it seems they advised us on all of our windows.our kitchen window is now fitted but it is a different style from all the rest of the house and it does look odd from outside .this is what the salesman advised us to get.we now have a window that is different from the rest of the house.can we tell them to change the style as we feel as if we have been wrongly advised.all other windows r tilt and turn kitchen one is a push open the thing is it looks odd from outside trading standards r dealing with us as none of windows r correctly fitted

Two points here, the main one is the fact that you have been sold goods that are "not fit for purpose". This comes under the Sale of Goods Act and gives you the right to some form of recompense. In your case that would be to make sure that the windows are fitted properly and, I believe, would also include the wrong style. If you feel the advice was wrong, then you can claim under the company's professional indemnity insurance. If the company is registered with a professional association, then no doubt they are covered by the association's insurance. If not, then I don't think you will be able to use that route.
