I think they suddenly realise that they haven't taken risks in life and are jealous of the fortune of others. They react not to gain but to punish or stop others from being happy, exactly what they are not!

It is like getting an answer one does not want and then feeling vengeful and retaliating in any form one can. Being totally self motivated and not looking at the other's perspective. Instead of being challenged they feel attacked. They always have questions but few answers. They twist and bend the rules to their own advantage. They don't contribute, they just take and wonder why they are unhappy. What goes around comes around. Giving is begetting.

Wishing you peace and joy this holiday. Fewer expectations and greater faith be yours.

it's called being an opportunist, seeing a small hole to fit into and taking advantage of it. Why do people do this? status, power, money, pleasures, revenge, many reasons, none of them being good. This practice has been going on for many millenia and will continue to do so until either massive brainwashings or the end of our race.

If you're still asking "why?" then there's an answer for that too. People generally want to get ahead, only their morals dictate what they will/won't do to get there.

Because there is always going to be misfortune and suffering...

Just like there is always going to be death, and God created the vulture and the maggot for that very specific purpose.

Someones got to clean up these messes. Certain people are just geared that way. Wired to be cleaners and opportunistic.

It is all just a little piece of life and what makes it work.

Because sometimes that is the only way for us to get what we want. So why not go for something when it becomes available? I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
