Why don't people look for talent in Virginia when it comes to music, and acting?

I think the winner of one of those American Idol clones was from Virginia.

well their are famous people form virginia, Pharrell, allen iverson, teddy riley, Missy elliot, Timbaland, the clipse etc.but it does seem like no one really wants to go there or maybe they just skip Virginia beause.... i dont know but if virginia didn't have talent a few of those people i named wouldn't be famous today, and pharrell reps VA all the time so!...... :)

I don't know... I mean Chris Brown and Trey Songz are both from Va.. But i think the Maryland, DC and Va area have great potential.. i mean i go to NY (Im from Maryland) and ask if they like this gogo song and they look at me like gogo? wtf is that and itz kinda of weird because i think gogo is like DC's trademark and their have been a few artists like beyonce and amerie that have used gogo samples and i think it would be really nice for the whole world to get a whiff of dc, to know where gogo came from, and to actually enjoy it.

good question i'm from va myself and i really can't think of any famous people from here unless they don't want people to know their from virginia.
