i mean these days all people listen to is pop, rap and rnb. like ludacris, christina aguilera, beyonce, justin timberlake, t.i, yung joc. but no green day, yellow card, panic disco ball, slipknot.... all of the rock bands. do u think its unpopular because of the "myth" that it tells kids to kill themselves and to be depressed?

Rock won't in any respect die! think of what the international could be like if all and sundry listened to Hilary Duff and Justin Timberlake. frightening...You do have a element however. lots of the extra suitable representatives of rock right this moment are from the united kingdom and eire (Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Block social gathering, Keane, Razorlight, and so on.) yet there are some bands from the united statesA. that are sturdy: The Killers such as you mentioned, Fall Out Boy, green Day, My Chemical Romance, Staind, Interpol, Switchfoot and others. So do no longer lose wish!

People have always been listening to pop, (maybe not rap) and R&B besides rock, since rock was created. In the 60s it was Swing music, in the 70s soul and R&B were really big, and in the 80s dance music was in. In the 90s Boy bands ruled and now hip hop is the big thing. It's always different, but it doesn't mean rock is dying.

Rock is the best music out there, yeah there are the bad ones but hip hop rap and rnb are just garbage Im sorry. Learn to sing about something other than money sex and cars and love.

Soul music is so redundant and regurgitated. You make a simple beat and you get a hit even tho the song means nothing.

Get back to your roots a listen to jazz and blues. Yeah maybe the music is good to dance too but thats about it.

LONG LIVED ROCK AND ROLL. CLASSICS BABY CLASSICS

Nah, it is definitely not dying. I do wonder though, how people can keep buying alot of these hip-hop and r&b groups cds, when hardly ANY of it is original. Just listen to it some day and youll see all you hear is a bunch of older songs either re-done or sampled, P diddy or whatever hes callin himself these days is the king of that. But as long as people keep buying the re-hashed music, they will definitely keep pumpin it out. Rock bands also put out some re-makes, I dont deny that, but they dont strive on it like alot of the mainstream commercial music that is pumped out by rappers and r&b singers of today. Support your local rock bands and youll never go wrong.

I do not listen to today's rock because it is not that entertaining. I have a collection of rock and metal for the period 60's through 80's. Now that stuff will never die like Zeppelin, Stones, ZZ Top, AC/DC, CCR, Hendrix, Tom Petty, etc.

hey there

i TOTALLY DISAGREE with the people who said yes above..

Rock and metal are one of the REAL music out there..
they play the instruments and that what makes the music..
the tunes comes from the guitars.. people are groovin' to the drum beats.. that's music..

and i do agree some rock/metal bands are crap..
in fact, many of them.. i dont want to mention which one, i just stick it to myself.. so i just listen to the good bands only, which are very good..

rock/metal music are not dying.. actually they are in "the other world".. where "esoteric" people still support them..
not in this regular world where people praises young and upcoming stars like JT, beyonce and alikes..

i blame it on the media.. rock/metal bands dont get as much airplay as the rnb/hiphop/pop/others..
they are too, real music but with with some extras.. you know.. the girls, cars, shoes, bling-blings.. people love that.. and media love that..
some rock/metal bands also have that stuffs.. so why not?
yet there were so little airplay for the rockers who wanted to express their feelings.. not killing stuffs..

people also do not care much about their lyrics.. they heard words such as "kill", "murder" and words alike, they dont like it anymore.. if they dig deeper, its actually meaningful and have a lesson to it..

its the people above who say "yes" and the media that put the rock/metal genre down..

people should know what music REALLY is.. and people should choose their music very well..

"All people" I think not, I rarely, if not at all, listen to any of the above, my personal favorites have been, currently are, and most likely will always be Brazilian Samba music without the words, the blues especially Stevie Ray Vaughn, may he rest in piece, 70's hard rock, blue grass, heavy metal especially Metallica, and classical...

Thats all the younger people listen to son. As long as us baby boomers live, rock will go on forever. You see the thing is, those people you listed are not true rock. No true rock tells you to be sad or kill yourself, rotflmbo...go listen to real rock...Mountain, Jeff Beck, Beatles, Stones, Doors....GBU
