A negative test does NOT always mean you're not pregnant. (sorry for the double/triple negative, but no clue how to word that any other way.) A second negative would be more conclusive. In my experience with my wife and pregnancy tests however, they have been 100% accurate. You may be one of the 0.2% that they do not work on.

Not that I would know being a male, but in the case of my wife she experienced tender breasts during the first weeks to the point of where it would hurt to touch them. This is from the changing of hormone levels in the body.

There are several women I know that never got a postive using a test, but did when their bloodwork was checked.
Also, did you use your first morning urine with the test?

I became quite twitchy and nervous...also began to be bruised... especially if she wanted a goofy type of ice cream at two in the morning and I didn't move fast enough.
