easy question, get new friends

2006-12-22 04:23:59 · answer #1 · answered by Southie9 5 · 0 0

Accept they're not your friends. If you're the scapegoat of the group, they're just using you.

That is cold, and you have every right to be angry at them. Call them on it, and then let them know clearly that they're all hating on one another (you can't tell me they don't gossip nastily about each other behind the others' backs -- vicious people are catty 24-7).

Consider finding a hobby or active class you like (gymnastics, dance, karate, surfing, rock-climbing, whatever) and deal with the people in that class. Make friends based on common interests.

And I understand very much it's not easy -- I have one female friend, and we don't live in the same city any more, so we never see one another any more. It's not easy to "Just go and make new friends!" (*said with sarcastic titter*). Having something that is bad feels safer than having nothing at all, even if the nothing is better than the bad something.

In the end, it's your choice. At some point, however, you'll break and either hurt them or yourself.

First you should find out why you think they hate you. Ask them and see if you can get a straight honest answer. Communication is everything you know. If you know you have been rude to them or done or said something unkind but didn't mean to then apologize and let them know you are sorry for what you did or said. Otherwise, treat them with kindness and friendliness as much as possible and be complimentary to them when possible. Also be encouraging to them when you can. Don't be critical in any way whatsoever. Kindness begets kindness. Remember the golden rule....Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Why are they hating on you? Are they jealous? Did you do or say anything to upset them? Sweet pea, the only person you can change is you. If they treat you bad, find a new, better class of friends. These people "hating on you" are NOT your friends.
