it's gotta be Salsa for me!! Just love the rhythm & the moves involved in salsa.. This is one dance that keeps on evolving with emergence of new music from the Latin America countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia..
Salsa originates from Cuba, but to take credits away from other countries like Colombia, Puerto Rico, Miami (USA) will be grossly unfair... why just weeks ago, I discovered another form of music closely associated to salsa, called 'Timba'... infectious stuff! u must check it out!
Azucarrrrr!!

hokey Kokey as we call it in England, scholars have found similar dances and lyrics dating back to the 17th century. A very similar dance is cited in Robert Chamber's Popular Rhymes from 1826. The Oxford English Dictionary says that "hokey cokey" comes from "hocus pocus", the traditional magicians' incantation derived from Puritan mocking of the Latin Mass: during the consecration of the Eucharistic wine and Host, Roman Catholic priests stand with their backs to the congregation and say the magic words, "Hoc est enim corpus meum" (This is my body). It seems probable that this is also the origin of the phrase "Hanky-panky" and the word "hoax".
Martin de Maat used the words of the song in his lessons to comedy students at The Second City, saying: "The Hokey Pokey. Think about it. At the end of the song, what do we learn? What is it all about?... You put your whole self in!"

I love to free-style rave dance. I usually plug myself mentally into the DJ pumping out the beats. I like it the best when the DJ plugs into me and feeds my dance as he or she changes the music and blends the various beats to my responses to the rhythms.
It is a total escape. A release. Better than drugs or alcohol!
It can be related to exercise but it is dance!
I can dance with myself and all night. Let the beat and rhythm take me away!
