Your mind is exceedingly numb,
But poetry is not that dumb,
So why not try this,
It will not be a miss,
Would odourless farts be less fun?
Hope this helps.

Write about a memory. My teacher once told us to write a poem on the favourite thing we ever wore (mine was a pair of jeans I had for years). Then, I started writing about a lot of my memories, like my earliest memory, the first time I saw something, a postcard my dad sent me, an adventure my best friend and I had. Memory is funny, so sometimes really weird thigns stand out which work great for a poem, like the first time I saw a play, I don't remember the play, but I remember the way the ceiling was painted in the theatre.

I have often found that when I have writers block I would start writing like a journal about whatever was bothering me at the time or something a friend was telling me about. Just write and write...then see if you have something you can make a poem about. Also, maybe go somewhere...sit outside...a coffee shop....the mall. Give yourself a new scenary.

Kendall you're having writers block because you've already given up "I have to do this DUMB poetry assignment..."
I don't help people who refuse to help themselves. You make it as hard as you want it to be.

A pirate named Ragtag Ray. Make him conflicted-- maybe he's in love with a pirate woman, but all she cares about is gold. (A lot of things rhyme with "Ray" and "gold," such as "parley" and "blindfold"). Fill it with action, and maybe the assignment won't seem so boring. Poems don't have to be boring, you know.
I hope this helps.

Write about what its like to work at McDonald's, since that's what thinking everything in school's dumb is going to get you.

What about the frustration of trying to force your creative mind to find and develop a poem?
