Why wouldn't it be a great thing for the US military to invade Iraq for Israel (IDF just too small to do the job) thus protecting our greatest ally as well as the holy land? Israel has to be protected at all costs.

I am unaware of the statement you refer to. So are many others.
As a matter of fact, there is great congruence between being pro-American and being pro-Israel. Our interests are very much identical, and Israel serves as the American proxy in the Middle East.
I would expect you to have asked something like, "Since the U.S. and Israel have so many issues in common, how is it that the American press does not support Israel?"

that is the most riduculous statement I`ve heard.I thought we were there for according to our govt.1.for weapons of mass destruction then when there wasn`t any.2.to depose Saddam Hussein then it was 3.to fight the so-called global war against terrorism.I wish our govt. would make up its mind as to why we`re there
