i don't believe in curses but it does seem to be an interesting coincidence
Players affected:
Alexander (2007) - injured (fractured left foot)
McNabb (2006) - injured (missed last 7 games of 2005 season)
Lewis (2005) - no real "curse" for 2004 season but missed 10 games in 2005 due to injury
Vick (2004) - fractured fibula - missed almost all of 2003 season
Faulk (2003) - again no real "curse" but his rushing totals dropped below 1000 yards (from almost 1400 yds in 2001 to 950 yds in '02) and he continued to get worse each consecutive year
Culpepper (2002) - went from an NFC Championship contender in 2000 to a 5-11 record in 2001 and threw 14 TDs and 13 INTs
These are just a few people to mention - you can make up your own mind whether a "curse" really exists...

Whoever is on the cover of Madden gets hurt during the year of release is the curse. Its happened the Vick and Shawn Alexander to name a couple. Hope this helps.

Madden all by himself is creepy.... drives to all the games because of fear of flying. Not married, no life but NFL and six legged turkeys.... or whatever he calls two birds blended into one. Hes scary!!!

Look at the past couple years. THey either did bad or got injured the year after

definatley!! Vick got hurt, Alexander sucked,
