Sure, there are lots of places you can get free songs... viruses come free!!
Seriously, you're just asking for a virus, and trust me, you DO NOT want a virus.
Some artists allow downloads from their personal site (but be careful of imposters) or from myspace. (www.myspace.com) which I have never had a problem with.

Use p2p (peer to peer) software like:
Morpheus
Bearshare
Limewire
Bittorrent
Iprefer limemire and have had only the best luck with it. MAKE SURE you have some virus protection installed.
