The window appears to split in half then close out one side at a time. I have cleared out all cookies and temp internet files and also run a defrag and nothing helps. Any suggestions ? Thank you.

Maybe U inadvertently cascaded windows...Right click on Ur taskbar and click on cascade...Select "undo cascade"...Good Luck...{:-{}.

investigate spyware and viruses. also pres ctrl+alt+delete and click processes, this will show you all the processes running on windows. you can see if thre is one in particular that is hogging all the system resources. if there is one, click it and click end process and see if performance improves

sounds like a virus or memory is slow .try disc cleanup too

maybe ur system is effected with virus,better reformat the system this makes ur system to work more faster
