Actually, that's a great idea...we should all be doing that! JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! :-)

I think that God will still be happy with you as long as you celebrate for the right reason. But I also don't think he would mind if you gave out gifts. Either way it doesn't matter to God. Just remember what the holiday is about!(and I mean the birth of Jesus! Of course you knew that!)
Merry Christmas!

there is a Christ in Christmas---I don't believe in XMAS, I believe in CHRISTMAS. That is just fine, what a peaceful season it is to reflect on the birth of Jesus. Christmas church services are a big part of the season and Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Jesus gave the gift of himself----so celebrate God's Gift---and give the glory to God.

What is pleasing to Source/God is to celebrate the Spiritual part everyday!
The Highest gift you can give anyone is Divine Love ... which has nothing to do with human love.

GOD never told us to buy gifts. As a matter of fact, the only occasions we are supposed to celebrate are the passover and the resurection of Christ. GOD is pleased with those who pray in Jesus's name. Thank you and GOD bless.

I don't think we can really know the answer to that, but there's a lady at our church (we DO celebrate the gift-giving and all) who doesn't believe in the gift-giving because of glorifying other than Christ...... All I can say is that it is a little hurtful to those of us who would like to share in the Spirit of giving with her and her family.

NO!! In fact God will be extremely pissed at you!!He actually sent me an e-mail (didn't everybody get one?) saying due to his age and his dangerously high cholesterol condition he longer can accept "burnt offerings" of any type and instead would really love a PlayStation 3, although he realizes that may be a tall order. If however you can't find one then a new I-pod already down-loaded with Metallica's entire song catalog or some lo-cal oatmeal cookies ( cholesterol thing again)

God asked us to give, but prasing Him in His name and celebrating the true meaning for Christmas, Jesus' birth pleases God in every way.

how do you plan on celebrating? Let your loved ones know that you will be giving of yourself this season and stop trying to cop out. Work at a shelter for the day, serve meals, but don't try to be a leach because you are not creative enough to brighton someones day. Make notes to your loved ones telling them why they are special to you.

I guess, I mean like a long time ago they didn't give gifts, i know people who do that too so i dont know. My family does gifts, but i dont feel it takes away from the true meaning of Christmas. I am a christian, but then again Christmas means CHRIST MAN AND SAVIOR. so i would say its perfectly fine. Merry Christmas

Of course it is. It might not please your family, but remembering the first family in Christmas is good.
Just remember that celebrating YOUR family is also pleasing to God. Take time to visit with them and share stories this year.
