The thing that has changed my life is me becoming a volunteer for a Hospice agency this past year. It has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I go to visit elderly patients in nursing homes who have been given less than 6 months to live. Some of them have no family and just love having someone visit them, talk to them and hold their hand. I really believe my visits prolong their life a little because they don't feel so lost and alone. I have a full-time job and also a part-time job but I make time for my Hospice patients. I will be spending my Christmas day in a nursing home and am looking forward to it. By the way, I have no family (except for my pets). I am not a senior either. My parents just had me late in life and now they are gone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!!

The first time I took another man's life in Vietnam.

I was humped over in country for 18 months. Thick jungles, drinking water squeezed out of my socks. Missing home. Watching friends die.

I pulled night watch and was at my post, when I saw the man in the black pajamas (just one of them) creeping out of the darkness of the jungle.

I silently drew my sidearm, lined him up in the sights, and duoble tapped him twice in the chest from about 30 feet away.

Amazing, and I'll never do it again.

Also, I used to hunt all I could as a child. Ever since that day, and the days following and preceding where I was shot AT, I haven't picked up a weapon to harm another of God's creatures.
