Running burns far more calories than shivering (at least 10 times more, depending on your running speed).

You can tell the calories being used by the amount of heat produced. Shivering burns enough to stop you from chilling. Running makes you hot.

You have to compare the same time.
The use of energy depends strongly on the intensity of the shivers and the speed of the running.

I guess it depends on what your shivering from....If its the shakes from a crystal meth binge...then yes. Course you'll be dead soon and wont be able to enjoy your new shape.

Everything has a down side.
