about me not being married legaly. We have two kids and have been together five years..we know neither of us are going anywhere...so if we have our reasons for waiting, why do other people feel they need to make it their business. Don't take offense Trunks, this isn't directed at you. I'm just tired of judging me on my personal choices.

Life is what you make it, and if your happy with the way it is now who cares about other peoples judgement. You don't have to make them happy so tell them to jump if they don't like it.
p.s Marriage is just a paper document, Love is it's foundation. Some have the love and no paper, but if people want to judge then what about the couples that have the paper and no love.

Many people are religious and having children out of "wed lock" is a no no! Others worry about the kids. Other kids can be mean when they find out their parents are different. Also if something was to happen to either one of you do you have wills stateing where the children go, or life insurance who does the money go to if you arent leagally married these things can be a pain in those situations.

Trunks takes no offense, you have a very valid question! I have absolutely no objection whatsoever to any decision an individual makes relative to their marital status. I respect your right to conduct your life in whatever manner you see fit. However, I think calling your "partner" by a term married people use when referring to one another is akin to being a hypocrite. If you're going to adamantly object to BECOMING legally married, why do you feel the need to refer to one another as "husband" and "wife"? It seems to me that you would reject using these labels of "wife" or "husband" just as vehemently as you have rejected making the choice to actually become legally married.

I don't Honey. I never do and will not start. Your relationship is yours to take care of I do not want anything to do with it so I will not interfere and make a big deal of it. You are a grown up person capable of making mature decisions considering the consequences on hand. If you are happy that way, don't let anyone take that away from you. Enjoy it, life is too short to waste!

There's nothing wrong with that! I've been with the same guy for nine years, we have a seven year old, and we have no plans on ever getting married. I think it would be a bigger pain in the butt to get married...you spend loads of money on a wedding, you have to change your last name on EVERYTHING, you're legally responsible for any debt incurred by your spouse and if everything goes south...there's legal battles and you have to change your name back. All that over a piece of paper and a ring. No thank you!

I don't see anything wrong with not getting married. Sometimes it's better that way for people. Oprah and Stedman aren't married and they've been together for practically forever. People just like to be nosy and tell other people what's best for them even though they don't have a clue.

To each his own. I'm married and very glad about it so I don't agree, but I'm not going to judge you.

I'm fine with that. People shouldn't get judged just because they're not getting married to someone. As long as you're happy with that, I'm happy with it. :-)

None of their business frankly...With the divorce rate as high as it is right now, don't even bother until it is something you truly want...you don't need it!!!!

I never let anyone else make me feel bad. It is my life and they can take it or leave it. It is your life and you should do what works best for you.
