How do you teach Pokemon how to cut in the Red version of the gameboy game after you beat Misty?

beating misty lets you USE cut, but you need to find it first!

go through the house that was robbed, you can get out the back door now. head around and south (down) all the way to get to the next town.

in there, you'll find a boat - many water types, a few fire types to throw off potential grass types that you might use for the water types. at the end of the boat, the captain of the ship gives you the move CUT and you can now select it just like you use TMs, but an HM is infinite.

In order to teach cut to a Pokemon, you have to first get the HM for that move. This is located on the SS Anne in Vermilion City, you will first have to battle your rival. Try this website, it is very good for hints and walkthroughs on any game:
