I'm applying as a foreign student, and I don't really understand how college works, Someone told me that college just prepares you for the university or something like that, I want to go to college for 2 years and then to the university for another to, i want to study machanic engineering.
I'm applying to a community college, because it's less expensive, I can't afford to pay a four year study in a university right away.
Please can someone tell me how does it work, what should I study in college? and also does somebody know approximatelly how much is the whole college tuition?

If you go to a community college before going to a university, you would be taking general classes and other classes you need to take to continue studying for your degree at the university. If you go to a counselor in the community college and ask them to explain what you need to do to become a mechanic engineer, they would let you know all that you need to do.
Community colleges can cost from about $1500 to $2000 dollars per sermester. Some colleges let you have a payment plan that you can pay your tuition monthly in order to afford college. A University can be from 8000 to about 20000 dollars a year.

I personally can't give you a whole lot of details because I haven't really looked at how to apply to foreign colleges.

Advice: Get someone where you live to help you look for info,
and email the college you are interested in and ask them for information and help, different schools have different tuition and different scholarships you can get, and apply for.

go to, www.google.com and search for , Applying as a foriegn student to college.

also, look very closely that the college your choosing has what you want to learn, it would be ashame to waste your money.

I just got accepted into a University, It's rediculously expensive, but I'm trusting that God will provide.

Be sure your ready for the work load, and be carful American colleges can be party, and ruin your time there.

I'll pray for you and your decision.

hope this helps, even just alittle.

College is a department.... you have college for engineering, college for fine arts, college for what-ever-the-subject. University is many colleges on one campus.

What you are talking about is a junior college. All community colleges are junior colleges. Junior colleges are only two years long and offer Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees.

AA degrees is the first two years of 4 year college education. After AA, you transfer to 4 year college and pickup from the third year.

AS degree is a watered down version of the entire 4 years. It's worth less, but if you only want to study for 2 years or your finances are limited, it is a great way to go.

The amount of money it'd cost you depends entirely on which school you go to, so you'll have to contact the individual college/university of your interest.

College is desribed as a jump start to your life. You go RIGHT after highschool. You can go for four years or in your case you only want to go for two. I'm guessing you would go to college to get your degree in engineering. After that two years you can go off and get a job unless you want to further you edcuation and receieve another degree.

Below are some good sources to help you find the college that is right for you and your major and all within your price rage because tuition varies based on what college you want to go to.

2 Yr colleges are generally more practical and they are accredited so you're time there counts towards a full university degree. If you are more practical, rather than academically minded this is a good route.
