I actually have a funny story about this. My pre-pregnance weight was 155lbs (but I was just coming off of a hockey season, so realize that it was muscle bulk). By the time I was in labor, I was weighing in at a hefty 196lbs and some ounces (I threatened to kill myself because I weighed about as much as my 6 ft. tall husband!!!). I had my son (8lbs of healthy screaming baby!!) and dropped 18lbs right away. It was great! I could see my toes again!! LOL It did take the next 12 weeks to lose the rest of the baby weight and squeeze (and ladies, I mean grease me up with Crisco and squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze into my jeans!!) into my pre-pregnancy clothes (I had HIPPO HIPS!! Yeesh! It took forever for them to go away) but it wasn't until he was almost a year old before I had my body back. Immediately after he was born, I started walking 2 miles every night (helped with his fussy time and the best way to beat the "baby blues" is with exercise) and I also worked out several nights a week (cardiovascular..not toning...that came later!) I also have a physically demanding job (field biologist) so I'm constantly out in the woods which helps a LOT.

The rule of thumb, which I think most will agree with, is that it takes 9 months to grow the baby and get all "swollen" it takes at least that long to get back to "normal." 9 months up, 9 months down.

My pre-being pregnant BMI replaced into borderline underweight, and that i gained 35 lbs. I lost 15 right after delivery and then gained 10 interior the subsequent 6 months or so. Breastfeeding the entire time. whilst my daughter replaced into 7 a million/2 months I joined Weight Watchers and started a software for nursing mothers. I basically could no longer stand being like that. I even have been progressively dropping weight for the final 3 weeks, and that i think of there continues to be wish for me, lol. So, basically so which you already know, breastfeeding does not convey weight-loss on each and every woman. My daughter is now over 8 months previous and that i nonetheless ought to lose 20 lbs. nonetheless breastfeeding.

I went in weighing 150 with both pregnancies, and came out at around 138 or so. By the time my 6 week post partum check up came I weighed in at 124, my post pregnancy weight. My son was 7 pounds and my daughter was 6 pounds, so not huge babies, but big enough!

I lost 16 lbs and only gained 22 through my whole pregnancy, but the weight was distributed kinda funny. Even though I lost that much within the first 24 hours, my stomach was definately not back to normal. It's been 5 motnhs since I had my daughter and I'm finally starting to get back to normal, flat tummy and all.

initially, RIGHT AFTER you give birth you will drop between 7-10 pounds....this is the baby and placenta.....after that, it depends on how your body reacts....some women who had really bad edema will lose that weight right away, while others dont.....this is why they tell you to bring clothes you were able to wear when you were about 5 months pregnant to go home in!
