Prepare yourself a tea with fresh or dried leaves of an orange tree. It works and it is natural. This is a commonly used beverage in South America and has been used forever.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

I take a prescription medication for sleeping , but this medication is also for stress and depression. The name of this meddication is seroquel. If you are not wanting to take medication to be able to sleep; I can tell you what my sleep doctor told me. In the stay up until you do fall asleep, even if this means you don't fall asleep Set your alarm clock for the time that you need to get up every morning. Force yourself to get up no matter what. While you are up in the evening do not look at the clock. Read a book, draw, sew, do things that you normally like doing during the day or night. Keep the house in complete silence. Do not watch television. If you follow this routine for 3-7 days eventually your body/ mind will be so tired that you will automatically start falling to sleep alot early and sleep longer periods of time. Do not sleep longer than 6-8 hours though even if you are still feeling tired. If you start sleeping more than 8 hours you will go back to not being able to sleep after a while

I hear that melatonin doesnt work if your body produces an adequate amount of that hormone. Therefore the problem with your sleep may be due to problems with arousa i.e overproduction of adreneline etc, you could try to get an appointment with a sleep clinic to get to the bottom of your insomnia.
You could try time-release melatonin I heard its more effective than the single direct doses, you just got to make sure you got a regular sleep routine.
YOu could also try herbal remedies like Valerian, contrary to what other people say about it, I think you can develop a tolerance to it overtime, like I did, nowadays I just lie down close my eyes and try to go to lalaland.
You could also try homeopathic remedies, remember they can take some time to work, and you need to find the remedy that is suitable for your personality type.
YOu could also try acupunture and accupressure, they help to relax you and destress, if that is the problem you r having when trying to sleep.
THere is also magnetic therapy, with magnets in your mattress.
I hear that sleep CDs can help too.
Hope I am of some help. Good Luck.

There are wonderful remedies available in homeopathy .
please take kaliphos 12x biochemic tablets 4 tables every day night just before sleeping ( better take in powder form with some milk )
Please take avena sativa and passiflora mother tinctures mixed togeather 10 drops in a cup of water every day night half an hour before taking the kaliphos .
The prescription makes you free from the adverse affects of what you used till date to sleep and also makes you sleep well.
If you can not do all this you can safely use DR RECKWEG germany 's combination no 14, which acts wonderfully for insomnia as well neurasthenia.
please browse reckweg website .

Try Valerian Root. My mom and grandparents take it and it really helps them. It is also good to take a vitamin B complex supplement and a mineral. Minerals are very calming to our bodies. Hopefully, some of this will help.

yeah, me too. wind down earlier. turn off all your distractions: tv, computer, cell phone. from hair to tip of toe. tell each to relax. for example, you will think to yourself: my hair will relax now...my scalp will relax now..(taking your time)..my eyebrows will relax now. by the time you get down to your toes. you will be totally relaxed.
