actually most DSL providers do provide the user with a dial-up back-up account. you need to check with your provider and/or documentation.

Not usually...Not ever actually. Do you have wireless? Most places you would travel would have wireless access points for you to tap into. If you travel a lot, go with a cheap dial up like Netscape or Peoplepc, which are only about 10 a month.

Yes, but if your system is wireless Internet then it is even more convenient. You can set up at any location that has wireless Internet. Most hotels have it, Starbucks restaurants, libraries, airplanes, or if your staying with friends or family as long as they have a wireless setting you're good to go.
