You are definitely correct. Nowadays, Santa Claus is more famous than Jesus Christ Himself. This is such a shame because we humans can be seen patronizing a fictional character than the one who saved us from the flames of hell.

Now, you were asking about the reason of that. For me, I believe that the main reason for this is the media. If you watch television, listen to the radio, read the newspaper, gaze upon the advertisements or read magazines, you can see the media keeps on injecting to the minds of people the wrong meaning of Christmas. Of course, there are still some programs of the media that remind us of Jesus, but most of them can be seen portraying Christmas as a season of gifts, foods, and Santa. If you're going to ask me, there is nothing wrong with Santa, provided that we do not forget about Jesus. Let us all remember that there won't be Christmas without Him.

I pray that Jesus may be famous all over the world once again.

Worldwide, I would have to disagree with you. Santa is distinctly North American. Other countries have their own gift-bringers, included Saint Nicholas and the Wise Men. And because Christianity was spread by missionaries to other cultures, Jesus is known and revered across the planet.

It may just seem that Santa is more famous because that is who the media feels safe portraying at this time of year. Santa doesn't offend non-Christians, and so Santa's pop up in every mall and are on every tv program. You really wouldn't want kids climbing on Jesus' lap telling him what they want for Christmas, would you? Wouldn't that lessen the impact of the Christian celebration?

Oh, I don't think he is.... In fact "Santa" is pretty much just a North American phenomenon. In England there is no Santa, they have "Father Christmas," in Germany its "Weihnachtsmann," in Czech Republic, "Ježíšek," in Russia, "Dedushka Moroz," in Greece, "St. Nicholas," in France, "Pere Noel," in Italy its the "Befana" and in Mexico, Spain and much of Latin America it is the "Reyes Magos" (the Three Kings) who deliver the presents to the children on January 6th,

So far from being "more famous than JC" if it weren't for American dominated television, Santa Claus would be practically unknown outside of the US and Canada.......

"JC" on the other hand, is the founder of Christianity, the main religion of one and a half BILLION people as well as a major prophet for another BILLION Muslims. I also tend to feel that he's somewhat known to the rest of the population of Earth as well.......

well because more people have taught their kids about Santa Claus before they talk about Jesus Christ because they are afraid of religion or some silly crap.
food for thought:
watch out cause isn't Santa to close to spelling Satan?
Also white is the color of purity but red is the color of love? ( not really sure) but it is also the color they put on the devil. Hmmm. I don't get that one unless they want people to forget about jesus that day and think of Santa Claus.

OH! So J.C. stands for Jesus Christ? And what are you asking? Are you asking why is the candy cane red and white? Red for the blood Jesus shed and white for the purity of heart or something like that.

actually the majority of Christmas songs are about Jesus.. but kids probably like Santa more because he brings them presents..

Because Santa doesn't preach or teach anything that someone may find offensive.
