I normally am a size 1 or 2, and I know I wear a 24, if that helps at all? I'm pretty sure the 26 means the measurement around the waist.

Is 26 the waist size? If so, I wear a 28 and I am a size 7...so maybe a 5 or a 7 in US?

From the clothing chart and the conversion methods, I would say about a size 2.
Conversion from US size to METRIC is what is used to determine size, not waist size.
