When l was going through a major life change, l was completely inspired by a book a friend recommended. It is Anthony Robbins, 'Awaken the Giant Within". Your friend will really relate to this book because Anthony was in the same boat, and now he is leading by example effecting the lifes of millions internationally. He begins with these words, "We all have dreams..." and he shows us how to overcome the obstacles to achieve these dreams...I was motivated, and l highly recommend it.

I'd recommend a book called "Creating a Charmed Life" by Victoria Moran.
Also go to the public library. Look in the computer catalog under the topic, "conduct of life" and go browse the shelf in that section. There are lots of books on this topic and one will surely fit your friend.

The Ultimate Secrets of Total Self-Confidence
by Dr. Robert Anthony
Two years ago I read an article in the NY Times about Cliff Floyd and he lept saying how this book helped him so much. I read it on a week long solo camping trip and it really changed me.

The On-Purpose Person by Kevin McCarthy.
It really helped me, although my problem was that I had tons of goals and just had trouble prioritizing them and determining which was really most important and what things I should focus on. One of the things I like about this book is that it helps you think about living for others and making your life meaningful instead of always living for yourself. Sounds like your friend could use a little of that.

Tuesday's with Maury changed my whole outlook on life. Most books by Kurt Vonnegut are pretty good at making you feel better about your lot in life, too. And if that doesn't work, tell him to talk to me. I'm in the same situation.
