It really isn't something that bothers me at all, personally. I think , I know, there's enough room for everyone here. As long as the person is hard-working and not doing anything illegal (besides, technically, their "status" as an immigrant), it really doesn't concern me in the least. I live in the middle of Chicago, we have people of literally just about every race, ethnicity, you name it. It makes the city better, more interesting. Like NYC, on a smaller scale of course. I think this immigration thing is just something people are going to have to get used to. The tide of immigration from the South is going to continue, whether a lot of other Americans like it or not. Even Bush and some of the Repubs favor now something called the "guest worker" program, which basically means they will be in effect "amnestied", and now, with Dems in control of Congress, that proposed "wall" (which wouldn't stop it anyway) will not be able to get passed or financed. So..... que sera sera..... Live and let live...

Not a diss and not sounding racist at all but when you come to another country there are laws you must abide by. One learn English thats the big problem if I was to move to Mexico I would have to learn spanish right? Learn english and abide by the laws. The laws are different in Mexico good example in Mexico the drivers have the right a way in other words you cross when no cars coming because if you try to cross a street without a light your *** will get ran over. In america you can't do that. As for taking the jobs I blame the people at the top of the government for that. Thats greed because they know they can pay people cheaper so they can get richer. Immigration did kind of drive some jobs down though back in the day I heard in Los Angeles a lot of people could make 30 an hour doing auto body work now those jobs are mostly illegals mostly from mexico making 8 dollars an hour. Also it cost the money to go down for hotel workers and the low end jobs like janitors. Back in the day before massive illegal immigration you could make up to 30 an hour doing janitorial work and you had a union backing you thats now down to 16 an hour and some are only making 7.50 an hour so the low end jobs died with immigration but it's not the immigrants fault it's the higher greedy people fault to cut back the american dream of the people who were born into this country.

You should get softer toilet paper Kiddo, Your really sounding like You've got a sore bum. I think Mexicans are nice. Illegal immigrants do all the crap jobs so everyone else doesn't have to and this helps keep Americans rich by allowing contractors to exploit them. By paying cash and not having to concern themselves with providing benefits. If they don't like being here because of the social injustice there isn't a darn thing they can do about it because they are illegal. I'm not from here myself and I don't have a green card either; but I don't want to do some crap job for peanuts and I don't need the money so I'm having a great time in America and I love these People here. They don't give a flying donut about anything, it's so cool; I just party all the time!!!!! Reminds me of back home only more random violence and less concern about being polite, hell I"ve stopped tipping in restaraunts and saying please and thank you; LOL; I mean what the hecks the point!!! Too bad about all these little problems, nothing anyone here is ever going to do about it though! Hey, have a Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year.

Let me begin by saying that I do not hate anyone.
However, if your friend is illegal he does not pay taxes like everyone else unless he is using a fake identity. Why is it asking too much for people to obey the laws. When you go to a country to live, you should only do so if you are willing to live by the laws of that land. I think it is fine to discuss changes in policy, but it isn't OK to break a law because you don't like it.
Just because people have concerns about immigration policy doesn't mean they hate illegals. As a citizen you have the obligation to do what is best for this nation. We are not responsible for the people of Mexico...though I certainly wish them the best.

I think that everyone deserves an equal oportunity. After all isnt that what our country was buit on. Besides it is only our fault that immigrants come over here and are choosen for jobs instead of us any way. If some one is willing to work harder and study harder to get a job. Then I say they deserve it. Thats what all the hates about anyways right? Money?

They do take away our jobs.
Why would a landscaping or construction company in an area like california & florida hire guys that they will have to pay say $13 an hour, when an illegal immigrant will work for half that.
Do you have any idea how many jobs that would provide if all the illegal people were gone.
They wouldnt like it if Americans went to Mexico & stole all their jobs....hell thats why the Ford plant is like the way it is down there....they are not happy with it so they have to have a big fenced in area just to stay safe.
Its called wanting the best for your country.

Increasing minimum wage doesn't fix the problem; it causes inflation.
I'm sure they are good people. They are still illegal immigrants. Illegal. I don't call them that because I hate them. Whether they pay taxes or not, they are illegal. And your bf is in the minority if he pays taxes (btw how does he do that without a social security or resident alien number?)

My ancestors did not come here for the reasons everyone else came here, I'm black.
my people were enslaved and i really hate to say this but i don't think illegals should be allowed to stay because they do steal jobs from americans that want to work.
i feel like if they want to come here they should just do it the legal way. what is wrong with that? everyone else from asia, africa, and anywhere else can't just jump the border so why should they be welcomed to do it. and i agree with the person above..
we should not adapt to their culture and language they should learn and adapt to america's way of life.

America is a great country with fabulous opportunities for anyone who wants something bad enough. I think that if people put theirselves in others shoes for one moment they would see that illegal immigrants just want an opportunity to make a good life for themselves and their familes. We should be helping them try to do that. If everyone helped eachother out this country would be in a much better position right now..

I don't hate anyone, illegal or not. There are certain processes one must go through to enter a state, and I for one agree 100% that learning English is a minimum requirement, other than that I'm cool.
