I want to get my brother a science magazine for xmas or his birthday. He's a molecular geneticist. any SIENTISTS out there? THANKS ! i wanted to get him "cell" bit its $300 a year subscription yikes

It needs to be intellectual not "national geographic which has nothing to do with molecualr genetics. I want him to read stuff he didn't know about his field

Yeah, they will be pricey. The most respected are Science and Nature, but those are general science. Cell may be more up his alley.

Of the various scientific journals, Cell has the highest "impact rating" (a measure determined by the Institute for Scientific Information - ISI - based upon how often journal articles are cited by other scientists within the first few years after publication). Science and Nature are also very good journals.

you could get "popular science". thats the name of the magazine. or national geographic but thats more about the world and there are some documentaries on animal. but i still lean on "popular science" hope that that magiazine is sciency enough for you! :)
