I am going to my boyfriends family christmas, but the thing is they are all from the country and I am a city girl, which means our styles are alittle bit different. I want to look trendy( and those skinny jeans look horrible on me, so they are out!!) How can I look cute but at the same time I dont want to stand out like a swore thumb.

Hey hunni Im a country girl!!

Try a black number! Black trousers with a strappy top will always look great! Or you could be brave a go for a skirt or dress but my personal safty code would be smart black trousers and a top...either strappy ....sparkly?? maybe a little colour?

Im a country person, moved to the city. :-D. I have been getting a lot of compliments on an outfit I have worn this season. It is black slacks, a white sweater and a plaid patterned scarf. It works both places. That, of course would be for dress up. For the casual stuff, we country people really aren't too awfully different. Just your casual jeans and a sweater. I have noticed that city women, wear shorter skirts/dresses, and show more cleavage, than we did in the small towns and country. . . so work with that, and you will be fine. Have fun.

For the holidays you are always stylish in a pair of khaki's and a sweater or twin set. So long as the style and color of the outfit flatters you, you will look great, feel confident and have a great time - thus making a good impression. They aren't going to remember what you wore, they will remember how you behaved.

DON'T try to look country with overalls and a cowboy hat....it will offend them. Try a knee length skirt (not a jean skirt) with a matching sweater. Then wear flats.

Wear something modest, yet comfortable that is your style. Just be confident and yourself, and you will be fine. Merry Christmas!
