My pegs are really messed up. I have already asked a question abouta peg that is stuck and will not move, even with pliers. That one I may be able to fix still. But the other peg, it turns as much as I would like, but without tuning the string at all. It basically just spins without moving the string. Any ideas on how to fix it without taking it to be repaired?

Not unless you plan on repairing it yourself...you'd have to replace the entire peg mechanism...sounds like an old guitar.

you might want to spray some kind of lubricant (WD-40, perhaps) on it.

It might be easier just to buy new pegs and do it yourself, though.
