We're the same. We have the same problems, it just looks a little different.

No. Christians used to actually care about what they believed in.Sure, they killed a ton of people for not believing in the Christian God but they still do that today-look at Iraq. Now, fundamental christians just use their faith as a way to justify their hate for everyone else. They dont help anyone who doesnt believe what they do-they dont look for the positive within other's spirituality- They feel the need to tell everyone how wrong they are when in reality-they cant stand how wrong they are. I am a liberal-and guess what? I am also a liberal Catholic. I believe in God and Higher Powers-the Virgin, Jesus, ect. I also believe in nature spirits, in what Christians call "paganism" (Please..you really think that one God has time to do everything? What about believing he's like a director or something.)
I still go to Church on holidays and I pray EVERY NIGHT. But, because I am Pro-Choice and am tattooed and pierced (thats my profession-body piercer) I have these Fundamentals attacking me every day. Trying to help me find god. Guess what guys? I never didnt have god so screw off.
Fundamentals are closed minded people with nothing to do but persecute others. However, TRUE christians are generous, non judgemental people who I personally love. (Its hard to find, but they are around)
So, no Christians are no better
A little bitter, I know, but I personally am sick of all this Christian BS

100 years ago, Christians were associated with the movements to end slavery, help the poor, sick, or oppressed. They were the backbone of every progressive movement. Now, unfortunately, Christians are tighly identified with fundies who obsess about a cluster of cells, but are absolutely indifferent to a mother with no food. Morons who refuse to deal with global warming and figure they're justified in wrecking God's creation. They obsess with following rules and bashing others that's actually more similar to the Phillistines that Jesus criticized than Jesus or his followers. It's too bad really. I'm a progressive Christian--an endangered species it seems.

I don't kow if the term better christians is appropriate since there is no rating scales in the kindom...we are all equal

however, I do believe that God has unleashed special powers through the Holy Spirit and given us the ability to spread the gospel using more channels and reaching nations that were once seemingly unreachable. All this is to prepare us to usher in his presence in the second coming...we are a lot closer than 100 years ago.

I'd have to say yes and no. It depends on what you consider better Christians. Yes, to the fact that 100 years ago the people didn't have as much access to education that we have today. And no, there is much we've lost because of greed. Today people are more concerned about making profit and not paying as much attention to the needs of mankind. Of course, that's just my opinion.

No! No one is better now than 100 years ago because 100years ago there were more people that believed in Jesus and had faith in him. In today's world not too many people believe in him. Due to Satan and his helpers more and more people are falling away from Jesus. In the world that we live in today man thinks that they can do things on their own without Jesus. That's how Satan tempted man. Not trying to judge anyone but they rather listen and follow Satan, than listen, follow, and understand Jesus. As time goes on this world is getting worse by the minute. In today's world man just wants and takes. Too induldged in their wants and taking without the intentions of giving. Thats why this world that we live in today is full of greed. In the Bible it states "give and then you shall receive" but people don't give! They only take. Man looks for an easier way to go such as handouts!. I will admit, there are some people that are still here somewhere, that gives with their hearts, without looking for anything in return. Those are the ones that Jesus will reward. Thats one of the ways to prosper in this world. Give what you can and expect nothing in return. Here is something that an old wise person told me: Years ago, there was a family that gave 5 million dollars, to a church, and another family that gave 3 cents, to the same church, and another family that didn't have nothing to give but their love who gave more? The family that gave 5 million dollars gave a lot right? the family that gave 3 cents practically didn't want to give, but the family that didn't have nothing but love to offer, gave more than any one else. A short time afterwards, the family that gave 5 million dollars went bankrupt, the family that gave 3 cents died, and the family that gave their love became wealthy! This is a sign that God works in masterious ways. Now if people would live their lives like that today, the world would be a better place. Also in the Bible Jesus said give 10 percent. Why do people think that he meant money? People misinturperate that all the time. The 10 percent that Jesus ask for is 10 percent of yourself. Jesus don't ask us for much, but people are too much induldged into themselves, other than to give Jesus 10 percent of ourselves to him. Thats why this world is worse now than 100 years ago! I hope this helps answer your question.

No we are not. We are distracted by technology and the rat race. We do not put nearly the time need to progress emotionally and spiritually like we should. How many people run around angry, ready to snap at another person for making small mistakes. We are not as forgiving as we should be either. We are always looking for ways to be offended so we can moan about how un fair life is. We look down on the poor and blame them for misfortunes they encountered.

Nope. Read the book. "In His steps" Written over 100 years ago. Brought up the question WWJD.

Everything written then is still happening and relevant now. Christians don't change, unfortunately, only time does.

We are the same people we were 1000 years ago, just more technologically advanced.

As far as being better Christians, we may be just by the simple fact that we are more tolerant and less likely to kill someone for not converting.

A lot of times I wonder what it would have been like to live in the time of Christ, but then I think of the persecution back then, and through many years to follow. At least now, we have the freedom to believe what we want. I think that is why free will is so important.

Well, a lot of Christians are hateful of Muslims lately. Seems pretty hypocritical to me, to follow a religion that preaches love but then turn around and hate people for being different.
