Epson is not a word in English. It is used in the term epson salts, which is really only one salt - hydrated magnesium sulfate. The name came from the man who first popularized the salts for medicinal use. Epson salts are also used as soil additives for gardening.

This is a current, partial list of United States trademarks and service marks owned by Epson America, Inc., its parent company, Seiko Epson Corporation, or their affiliates. This list identifies many of the Epson marks, but it does not identify them all. Failure of a mark to appear on this list does not constitute a waiver of Epson's intellectual property rights. Nor does it mean that Epson does not use the mark or that the product is not actively marketed. This information is provided as a courtesy to Epson customers and end-users.
The word EPSON and the EPSON logo are registered trademarks of Seiko Epson Corporation.
