It was 1959. " Clifford Prout was a man with a mission, and that mission was to put clothes on all the millions of naked animals throughout the world. To realize his dream, Prout founded an organization called the Society for Indecency to Naked Animals, abbreviated as SINA (it was left unexplained why the society was 'for indecency' not 'against indecency'). " This most excellent hoax by Alan Abel ran from 1959 to at least 1962. I remember seeing one of his billboards around 1960 with a horse wearing pants. Not at all. Look at Donald Duck; he puts a towel around his duck waist after a shower and dresses in a jacket, leaving his lower bathing suit part bare.
It's confusing to animals to have such modesty.

yes sometimes, i was thinking the same thing when i was watching Milo & Otis, the animal movie with the Pug and the Tabby cat, Otis's junk hung out and his b-hole showed the whole movie!!!!

No, unless they are in your house and I think that would be to protect your furniture. Actually I would think that covering their behind would be more important because they can't wipe (still protecting the furniture...)
