I can't answer your question, but I just want to tell you:

You do not have to concent to any medical exam or test. Also, by definition a test or exam is only worthwhile if it is a) accurate --doesn't have an high level of false positives or negatives and b) there is a treatment that will change the outcome or diagnosis will change your life (certain untreatable fatal illnesses).

No vaginal ultrasounds are not particularly accurate, and often the only treatment option available is abortion; which you may be against.

So I would seriously consider why you are undergoing a procedure you are clearly uncomfortable with? Obviously I do not know your situation. But I am concerned with how unempowered many women are, particularly when pregnant. Please remember you and only you are soley responsible for the health of your unborn baby and yourself. Doctors are there to advise, but they are not always right, whole medical systems have been known to be wrong. But ultimately it comes down to you, and you always have the right to consent or not as you see fit.

It can be uncomfortable but it doesn't really hurt. If you do start to feel any discomfort, don't hesitate to speak up. The doctors can't tell how hard they are pushing, etc so you should tell them.

There is a possibility of bleeding, but it shouldn't be a lot...just more like spotting.

I've had 5 of them and they're not painful. A pap is more uncomfortable than a trasnvag u/s. You may spot afterwards but thats due to cervix irritation.

Not painful at all...it just looks and feels funny...basically it reminds me of vibrator.

But I guess it can be painful if you're a virgin. Though I've never bleed from it...

I had this procedure done to me many of times...including the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Sometimes you may spot but it's normal to spot after any kind of exam or something, I had one and i didn't bleed or spot. It's not painful at all and of course they use gel. Don't worry about it because you could stress yourself over nothing.

It's uncomfortable but I wouldn't call it painful. The cervix is sensitive during pregnancy so you may spot a little - or not.

Not at all and you find you're so into the sonogram that you totally don't even realize the doctor is "in there".

Never had any problem with it. Don't like the idea...but it's great to see your baby.

I've had 3. They don't hurt. Kinda weird if you think about it, but you'll be focused mostly on the baby anyway.
