just wear a blindfold and have her use it more often in the winter, as long as it doesnt start to smell...its ok.

Are talking about a 'bug zapper'? Just take it down, that will cure looking at it entirely. Covering it will still draw attention to it and you will know what's there and suffer flashbacks.
If this something of a more personal nature, then there are other means if resolution. Leave the lights off. Send it to a barber for cut and trim. Place a nice drape over it, just remember to clean once an awhile, say monthly if not weekly. If depends on the dust factor, and how often the filter is changed.
