i know it sounds silly, but my comp dosent seem to be up to par. when i run limewire and windows media player my comp is getting stuck, takes time to change songs and stuff. i have the 2.2 4200 dual core. it seem to be fine before but latly its seems like dual core is lacking....????help

No, dual core is automatic- perhaps you are running low on RAM or free hard disk space- How much of each do you have?

Of course Limewire might have loaded enough adware/spyware to slow down even NASA's supercomputers... I suggest running a full virus scan.

Also, head over to download.com - grab Ad-Aware SE and Spybot Search & Destroy (both are free) and letting them scan your system to remove any malware which might be lurking.

Keep in mind that for tasks like gaming, dual-core is no faster than single-core. But you should see some benefit when doing 2-3 things at once.

Limewire is full of spyware, hackers and a Virus breeding ground, this is slowing down your PC not your CPU. Run a virus and spyware scan and get rid of Limewire.

Additionally make sure you have the latest Dual core drivers, hotfixes:

nope core is automotic trigger when too many windows or program running.but f your using limewire its a shareware.people searches to your share foldrers and thats why your computer is slow and at the same time you download with others.so its eat to much memory.but different many programs are running dual core is good enough

has nothing to do with your processor and more to do with how much memory you have.

Plus if you are illegally downloading with Limewire you probably are loaded with viruses and spyware which would be slowing you down alot as well.
