I watch a lot of his movies and I must say he always has me in stitches he can turn a plain film into the most hilarious film that I've ever seen, do you folks share my opinion.

yea theres something about him you cant resist I saw him in Bruce Almighty last night and laughed mmy socks off he says and does what most people would love to do when they react to something but are too afraid to let rip he's good I'd like to see him play a serious role though or a badie that would be interesting I think he's kind of this generations' Gerry Lewis a famous comedian from the olden days in case you're very young!!

Well, I don't know about comic genius, but he can be funny at times...as far as being a Jerry Lewis rip-off? I don't see it that way...more of an evolution, sometimes an homage, to what Jerry did...Jim Carrey has made no secret about his growing up watching Jerry, and being influenced by him. Call it a partial tribute.

He was brilliant in Lemony Snicketts Series of Unfortunate Events and most excellent in characters where he is really wacky. Some of his characters probably challenge him as an actor because they have serious or dramatic sides aswell as comedy. He and his films are generally watchable i.e. bound to be entertaining and my favourite is Fun with Dick and Jane.
He is all American star quality but he hides things about himself.
Compared to Matt Damon for example who is good looking smart and a good actor and plays his characters well Jim Carey does all this but seemingly effortless.

Very funny actor, but hardly a comic genius though.
For genius, check out Peter Kay, Jimmy Carr & Ross Noble.
This is the benchmark for comedy genius nowadays.

The only film I didn't like of his was the one he did with Kate Winslet which was more serious - I can't remember what it was called. But in comedies he is excellent. We love Bruce Almighty!

he is a very good comic without a doubt.BUT have you see him in a straight role the guy can do straight equally as well........in particular a movie called The Majestic watch it you wont be disappointed !
