How long ago did you meet him?, You really don't want to start the relationship off with buying gifts. Try to find him something nice and memorable but not something that makes him go so wild that the next birthday you don't have to out do what you have done this b-day.
Try getting him something that you will enjoy seeing him wearing like a shirt or a cap. It might sound a little cheesy but you really don't want to go all out for someone you have just met and you're not sure where the relationship will lead. I hope this helps.

If he's into music, buy him a cd. Maybe a compilation of various artists. Does he drive? You could get him a gift card for a wash & detail

Well, there are a lot of other factors that could change my answer such as: Are you dating? Friends? What?
I'd say give him nothing, but do say "Happy Birthday" so at least he knows you are aware of it.

i would say a nice shirt with some of the things he likes like make the shirt his favorite color and if he has a favorite charater or somthing add that to~ good luck!~
