There's a lot of it about these days. Anyhooooo, if someone isn't quite with us and suffers from being a bit slow, maybe in their genes, parents the same way etc, then is the only option they have to appear on either Big Brother or that irritating chav fest X-Factor.
Your thoughts please......

There are many reasons for illiteracy, ranging from the lack of educational opportunity to someone being a "bit slow". Being a "bit slow" somewhat depends on the field of knowledge being tested, for instance theee are many very bright people, even successful people who are a "bit slow" when it comes to fixing their car, treating an illness or stopping a persistent leak.
In other words, we are all a bit slow at times and most of those so-called reality shows just accentuate it.

There are many work and lifestyle opportunities nowadays for the people you describe.
So, I guess I might not agree with you.
However, I also feel that TV programmes nowadays are generally quite poor. I rarely watch anymore. and have not seen the programmes you refer to.
So maybe I'm not best place to judge.

Hardly. A boy with Downs was a regular on a television series back in the 1990s. I don't remember the name of the show, but he was one of the stars.
