Installing built in wireless in a Thinkpad X23 - aerial configuration?

Question

I have a bought a wireless mini pci board to go in my Thinkpad X23 so that I don't have to keep plugging in an external USB or PCMCIA card.

I also got the aerial to go with it but reception is naff.

The aerial (wires) has two wires that plus on the card and i've routed this around the periphery of the screen.

Is this correct - any help or details of how it should be set out?
