I have a Dad just like yours. He waits and waits and then at 3pm on Christmas Eve, he ends up frantically trying to buy something for my Mom. Here is my reccomendation. Why don't you go to him and suggest that the two of you go shopping together, This way you can help him not to overspend and you can make sure he goes a little before the Christmas Eve deadline.

Hope this helps!

How about if you try and subtly find out from your mum what she might like to get as a Christmas present, and then go and suggest it to your dad saying that this is what she might like?

Let the man do his thing.
Who's opinion is it that it's too expensive, yours or your mother's? I truly hope you're not jealous.
