Our church is having 4 services this year because Christmas Eve is on Sun so we are going to an 11:00 am service. Usually we go to a family 5:00 pm service but then we eat dinner at a later time and the kids get cranky, so the early service is perfect for us this year!

You know I can think of nothing more comforting to me right now than to be able to go to church on Christmas Eve and think about how much God loved me so much as to send His own son as a gift to us. I think the Christmas eve service - it is the only thing that brings me any hope at this point. My love and I are apart, and we cannot be together at Christmas...and I feel so lost about it. To have that moment, when all is right...to think of how wonderful God, our creator is to send His greatest gift to us...to bring us peace, joy, hope and love...well, I want to be a part of it. So many people do not understand that deep down...and, it is a truly amazing kind of love. So...I will be there...and my parents will be there...and my boyfriend, my love...far away in a country not his own will be at the service there. We will be together in spirit, knowing where the other is and worshiping the same. It is our comfort. I pray that others will find the same peace in that moment.

I will be going on Christmas Eve...but our church celebrates the Lord's birth...just not on Christmas. We believe Chrsitmas is meant to celebrate and enjoy with your family. I go every Sunday though. My wife and I do. If anybody ever wants to watch, we broadcast live on the Internet every Sunday at www.hisfaith.net at 11:30 am and 7:30 pm. (Michigan time) Enjoy!

We will not broadcast on Christmas Eve or NYE

I have the same answer as Bubba. My husband passed away two years ago, but he got me and the girls going to Christmas Candlelight service and we aim not to miss it. Its the closest I can come to as feeling that I'm still loved and not alone - that Phil and Jesus are still there, and each Christmas Eve they will be there waiting for me and the girls.

The giving of gifts is for children.Christmas is to remind us Christ died on the cross for us.That is a gift for everybody. Christians think about God and Christ everyday not just at Christmas in church.
