This is a 1987 GMC pickup and when it rains hard water drips from underneath my dash on the drivers side.It appears the drips are coming off the brake pedal rod thats going to the master cylinder.I hosed down the truck and still cant find the leak. When it rains there is no rain gettin on my brake master cylinder under the hood and the windshield seal is NOT bad.Perhaps the leak is coming from somewhere above the brake pedal rod that runs to the master cylinder.ANY help!!Wheres the water coming from??I will give a best answer on this one who has an idea where the leak is coming from!!Thanks.

Start with the windshield my friend ... Many times when it is replaced they never clean the old seal enough when setting the glass and you may have a leak at the top of your truck, or more likely at one of the corners ... the water likes to run down the window frame, under your dash and down the fire wall ... you may also have a weak spot in the bottom corner of your windshield under the glass ... either way it sounds like the water is coming from the windshield/window frame and considering the year and make of the truck I'd start with the windshield .. have you had it replaced before?

Many, many times I've replaced glass and found the old seal's where still there and rotten or poorly removed, allowing for a seal, but with many small openings that over time will allow water to get inside, sit and destroy the metal or at least weaken it and when looking for water problems, always start with the Windows and the seals around them.

Hope that helps.

My solution on my '83 Silverado was to apply a light coating of clear silicone sealant between the wind shield trim and the body of the car. Then you know for sure that water can't be entering through the windshield. Another possibility is a leaking metal weld joint under the windshield vent area. Remove the air vent to see what body seams the water might enter. Make sure all the door and fender areas are flowing water correctly. There are drain holes that could be plugged up with leaves and debris.

Check around the windshield, specifically the upper and lower corners where the weatherstripping seal is. I had a problem like this earlier in the year and ended up having someone spray my car with a hose while i sat in it and looked for the leak.
It ended up being a tear in the weatherstrip in the bottom driverside corner that was not leaking heavily, but was consistent and would gather on the floor.

My '89 is starting to leak at the windshield. It only does it when its sitting still-weird!
But in your case (since you eliminated the windshield thing) check to see if you have debri in the area down below your wipers. Not along the outside but run water down in the black plastic grate. If you have clogged drains it will back up in your ventilation system.

remove the rubber seal for the engine wiring harness and look for rust and damage seal. located next to the mastercylinder.if okay, put some silicone sealant around it.next, check the rubber seal that goes across the hood.if this seal is missing or damage, water will leak into your truck and finally, next to the wiper motor, make sure the drain plug is not clogged
