Yes - I was in the Army Cadets from 1960 to 1963. We did drill and had annual camps. We used to go to Severn Tunnel Junction to fire rifles (.303 Lee-Enfield) and Bren Light Machine Guns - 32 rounds of .303. Fire only in one-second bursts or the barrel would melt! I had a great time.

my son is in air cadets now and he loves it, plus the disipline is good for him.
