Can having too many links in my favorites folder cause my pc to run slow? And what amount would be considered too many?

No, your favorites are just links to web pages, they take up VERY little room, too. You might be running low on RAM or hard drive space, or your CPU/RAM/Hard Drive/etc. is too slow. You might also have spyware and/or viruses...use the following to check:

Having too many Favorites has nothing to do with ur pc. maybe u got less RAM or les space in ur C drive.

it will slow down your computer every time you are loading the folder. if you have a large RAM its ok even though how many RAM you add

No way that would never happen just check for junk programs and adware for this
Use ccleaner to remove them
